30, and new to this whole "diet" thing!
Hi folks. My name's Megan, and I've been actively "dieting" since June of last year.
I was always the fat girl in school, and I grew up into a fat 30 year old. My highest weight was 348 lbs (which is really embarrassing to admit).
I suppose my "rock bottom" moment was last year. My husband and I went on vacation for our 1-year anniversary, and we were taking a tour of someplace and I just couldn't handle the walking. It wasn't even a lot for a normal fit person, but it felt like I was gonna pass out. That was when I really knew something had to change and I needed to get serious.
So far, I've done alright, with a few instances of falling of the wagon. I've lost about 20lbs so far by counting calories with MyFitnessPal, and I'm pretty happy about it, because I've never lost weight before. It was tough for a while, because I had some really frustrating diet restrictions - I was on coumadin to treat a blood clot, so I was severely restricted on the amount of greens I could eat. I'm off that now and I love my veggies.
I don't really have a set numerical goal for my weight. I want to shop in a normal womens' clothing store. I'd really like to look and feel healthy, and go back to all the places I couldn't handle the walking, and walk all over them. And I NEVER want another blood clot. If I can achieve those things, I'll be happy no matter what the scale says.
