Default Popping in to say hi

Like everyone else, I am new here. I have battled my weight for my entire life. I am an emotional eater, which I sought help for 2 years ago. I knew I had started to pack on some pounds after getting married, but just didn't want to face the actual reality of it. I had to go to the Dr due to being sick in early Feb, and learned that I actually weighed 270 lbs, instead of the 200 I thought. But it seems that's a common thing, who really wants to believe they weigh more?
So here I am at 265, hoping I can lose enough weight to look halfway decent in photos at Disney World this summer. I know I can't lose the 75 pounds in 4 months, but I am hoping to lose enough so that I will be comfortable being IN photos, instead of the one taking photos.
My biggest issue is that I don't eat right, or exercise like I should. We live around a beautiful neighborhood, and some gorgeous parks, so there is no problem getting outside. My favorite foods are macaroni & cheese cups, totinos pizzas and anything that can be thrown in the oven or microwave. I love vegetables and fruits, but just don't buy them like I should.
I also have no idea how to go about this weight loss. I have no one around me that will hold me accountable. My husband is not an enabler, but he won't kick me in the butt either. He's a great guy, but he sucks at confrontation. lol So here I am looking for some ladies that I can hopefully relate to, and learn something from, so that eventually I can learn to love myself again.

Welcome! I just started out also, but have been lurking on this site for months and months. Do you have any plan you particularly want to follow?

Hi there! I don't have a plan in mind, simply because I have tried so many that have never worked. At this point I am just trying to incorporate the right foods, and add in exercise. I go through spurts where I crave things like veggies and fruits, protein and grains, and then I hit the skids and realize I just shoved a cupcake in my face. lol I don't have diabetes or a thyroid issue, so at this point I just need to decrease my food and increase my activity.

mizmimi- Hey I'm not new to the site, but I am re-starting again, and I also am at my highest weight (I havent yet changed my weight up from last time I was on here). I wish I could give you advice based upon my own success. But I do read alot of fitness magazines and I love the "I did it" types of stories. I feel that alot of women when starting from the beginning just change a few things at a time and that really worls to get them solidly on the right path. Maybe before you worry about taking away foods focus on adding healthy foods. Along time ago I had success in losing some weight by telling myself that I alwasy had to eat a healthy salad with low calorie dressing before I could eat anything else for lunch or dinner. By doing this you know you are at the very least giving your body good nutrtion that will improve your health. And maybe even result in filling you up enough that you wont eat much of the unhealthy stuff. After making one change and sticking with it for awhile try another. HA HA I'm thinking I should take this advice myself for this time starting out again. Get back to the salads before lunch and dinner.

That sounds like great advice! I love me some salad, and could eat just that, everyday. However I would actually have to do the work to make it, and well, I am lazy about it. I don't have any friends around me (closest is 4 hours away) to keep me motivated, or to even exercise with. I think I'll start with the salad before anything idea. Thanks!
