Default Oh apple and peanut butter lunch - how I've missed you!

For the past week I haven't eaten my standard lunch of a crisp apple, sliced up and liberally sprinkled with cinnamon and then paired with 3.5 tablespoons of peanut butter. It's been my 430 calorie lunch for nearly two years.

Now, I'm a person who likes a lot of variety, but for breakfast and lunch, I eat the same thing nearly every day. Then for dinner I eat something different every night. When I don't have my usual lunch, I don't do well with other food choices. There's just some perfect balance of the sweetness of the apple and the crispness, the spicy/sweet of the cinnamon and then the smooth nuttiness of the peanut butter that is just divine to me.

This past week, however, I couldn't eat it as I had a molar removed. My jaw ached. Hard, crisp food would have hurt and the sticky peanut butter might have risked losing the clot in the gum which could cause problems.

But today? WOW!!! I missed my go-to lunch!!! And now I feel satiated and satisfied and it will make the rest of the day go smoother. I wonder if part of the reason I got a bit derailed the last few days was that I couldn't eat my standard fare that I love and was missing? Who knows... but back to plan I am and I thoroughly enjoyed my staple lunch.

I had the same problem about a month ago. I had a molar removed, had a terrible time to get it to stop bleeding cause I went right back to work and never closed my month for about six hours, and then was it sore.
I also eat the same breakfast and lunch most every day. lunch is 2 rice cakes with spinach and turkey breast. There was no way I could eat the rice cakes for over a week. I wasn't smart enough to make a healthy soup or something ahead of time and kept trying all these so called "healthy" canned soups and they were terrible.

Hope your mouth feels better soon!

This must be a sign, I was just debating on whether I should have an apple and PB or a sub for lunch. Apple and PB it is!

Whenever I miss my salad and sardines standard I find myself craving it. Yaya for routine and your healed mouth!
