I thought I'd post some pics from my progress. This was after I started lifting "heavy" weights (15 pound dumbbells a few times a week while I watch TV) and working on my yoga inversions (hand stands and forearm balances.) I didn't lose any weight between the 2 photos. I always thought the "bat wing" would only go away with fat loss, but I guess building up all that muscle underneath really does help.
You look so great, thanks for sharing. I bought weights right about Christmas-time but haven't even figured out what to do with them?!
I just lie on the floor and lift them over my chest (I think those are dumb bell flies?) and then hold them behind my head and lift up (for triceps), then I stand up and do biceps lifts, and then lifting straight up at shoulder height for deltoids. I can only do about 10 reps with those weights before I can't do anymore.
Awesome, thank you so much!! I think I have ones that are 5 and 8lbs, I will start out easy as I am not as strong and built up as you!
You have no idea how much this helps me, they have just been collecting dust all this time. It wasn't on my radar to look up what to do with them! (Apparently I thought just buying the weights was progress lol!)
wow! what a difference in only a few months. gives me hope I can improve my bat wings. I'm going to start picking up my 15lbs dumbbells again.. I probably still have a bit of fat to lose, but I was worried even if I lost the fat I'd still have loose skin batwings... but mines kind of look like yours in the before, so there's still hope!
wow that is AMAZING! Okay, you have convinced me. I was scared that doing weights would create muscle that would make my fat arms look even bigger, but I see now how this works. Thanks for the motivation!
Wow! I've recently incorporated circuit training into my workouts and after seeing those pics I'm looking forward to increasing the weight. Really motivating, thanks for sharing.
