Default Gain weight while sick?

Has anyone gained some weight while sick with a cold? I stayed on plan (Medifast) the entire few days I was sick but I seemed to gain weight. I'm hoping it's just water weight.

Anyone have advice or know if it is just water weight that will come off?

I'm very disappointed to have my 2 month Mediversary and not be 299. Next week is my birthday and I'd love to give myself the gift of being under 300 lbs for the first time in many years but now I don't know if it will happen with this set back and odd weight gain.

I think I gain water weight when I have a cold. It's very frustrating. I need to remind myself it's only water weight, but I doubt myself.

I "gained" 5 lbs with a head cold a few weeks ago. Within 4-5 days of feeling better, the weight was off again.

I'm coming off a cold right now, and I'm pretty sure my weight will be up tomorrow. It's frustrating because it's takes so much willpower to stay on your plan when you're sick. Water tastes weird, vegetables taste weird....sucks.

Your body is producing a lot of extra mucus when you have a cold, and even though it doesn't feel like much, it all adds up! So that could be contributing to it too.

I'm convinced that I gain weight based on the fact that my sinuses and lungs seem to be carrying at least 20 pounds of gunk in them. Hope you feel better.

Actually, I tend to put on water weight probably from meds and from chicken broth.
