Default Weight loss time lapse video

Has anyone done one? I think I want to do one and am getting ready to set it up.

I have a few quirks though. I have concerns with modesty. Not self-image or confidence but actual modesty and I will not show all of that skin. I dress very trendy and mod, so most people aren't even aware of my modesty standards because I'e got style. ;-) Buuuttt.... Most of those videos are in bikinis. underwear or something skimp. I will never wear that, just based on my beliefs of respecting my body and what I feel is valuable (no judgement on others. Just my standards).

Soo... I'm trying to think if what to wear. I think I could compromise for leggings and a fitted shirt. Any other suggestions?

I also have to decide whether to show my face, since I'm trying to be anonymous. And the reason for that is just to avoid negative family members and a few friends who may be a bit stalkerish to find gossip material. I despise drama. Ok, I suppose I should call those acquaintances, right?

So, has anyone done one?

No, but I think it's a good idea. I take pictures at the first of every month in a leotard that right now is being stretched to its maximum capacity. Once I hit goal, I'm not sure that I'll want to share those pictures with anyone, but I may still do the video just to have to remind me that going back is not an option. If you do the video, who says you have to share it with anyone, especially if you have modesty concerns?

Anyway, like the idea of the video -- sharing it with anyone is probably an individual choice.

That's a good point. I wouldn't have to share it. That never occurred to me.

Knowing myself, I most likely would, though. I blog everything. That's how I stay motivated. I'm modest by choice but not personality. Does that make sense? I'm not shy about my size or the way I look. It's a respect philosophy. And I blog everything. I'm sure I'll shamelessly put it out there. LOL

I think a video is a great idea! I have progress pictures, but I would love to add some videos of me talking about my journey and perhaps videos of cool things about my journey (visiting local farms, fitting into a new outfit, ect.).

Something similar to Arthur's journey- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX9FSZJu448

Hey, I get the blogging thing! That reminds me, I need to start posting more, I've kind of fallen off it with the plateau. Blogging feels like extra accountability, and if I can help anyone through what I've been through, that's brilliant

I think the video is a great idea! How about leggings and a tight tank top? Just black so you can totally see your shape and aren't distracted by different colours? Then you don't need to show off much skin, but can still see the way your shape is changing? I take my progress pics in tight black trousers and tshirt with short sleeves, and as I get smaller, I'll just substitute in smaller sizes so they're not hanging off me. I couldn't do the bikini/underwear shots either!! I'd wear a short skirt if I liked the look of my legs, and I'd wear a bikini at the pool or beach, but that just feels completely different. I think it's the Internet thing as well. Once something's out there, it's hard to get rid of. And you never know where it's going to end up.

@lunarsongbird I cry every time I watch that. My health issues aren't close to the extreme he deals with, but they're pretty bad. He is such an inspiration!!!!!

I think that there is a lot of unknown about weight loss surgery. I feel like if I can blog and share my experience realistically, it may open people's eyes to how hard it really is. It's not the easy way out. I know that if I do a time lapse, it will show a stage of drastic change and then a slowing down. It's even likely to show me go back up. I know several people who lost below their goal before their body leveled out and settled. That may be apparent in the video.
Information is power. I'm all about sharing it. And like I said, I'm not shy. :-)

Exactly. Extra accountability and support! I'm a writer anyway. Pouring out my thoughts on a page (or screen) is the best motivation. Unfortunately, it doesn't burn calories...nothing is perfect.

Yes and yes!! I was thinking maybe grey? Black is slimming. I don't want to fake it LOL

This process is likely to be for a year or two. It's a big commitment. ANd I don't do half arse... My husband has worked in video production so I'm pretty sure the second I tell him, he is going to get really excited about putting it together. And then I don't have to. :-)

The wall in the background of mine is cream, so I just went for the highest contrast (actually that's a lie... all my clothes are black, and THAT'S why ) And trust me, I do NOT look slim in those photos, lol! That's more for my own reference, though. Although I do have to do bikini shots before & after 30DS, which I am DREADING!

Sounds like this video is going to be very cool! I'm sure loads of people would be inspired to see the changes you go through in a well-produced way. There's only so much you can get from a few blurry photos of "here's me bigger", and "here's me smaller". You could absolutely make this into a video blog, pick up followers on the way and by the time you're at your goal, you'll have a whole new audience to inspire!

Lunarsongbird, that video is amazing! I swear I didn't cry... And I am never complaining about a downward facing dog ever again!!

I think that is a brilliant idea!! Now I wish I did that at the beginning of my weight loss journey. Maybe I will start now since I am a little over halfway and god knows I can use all the motivation I can get to keep going! I don't know about sharing it publicly online, though because like shiv said, once it's out there, it's out there. Definitely with a few good friends and the boyfriend since I know they won't start anything and will support me. I also think the idea of grey tank top or fitted shirt with leggings is a great idea.

Wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide!

I take nekkid pictures the first of every month that no one will EVER see. I also take clothed ones on a fairly regular basis to chart my progress and share more publicly.

I think a time lapse show is one heck of an idea to show how far you've come.

Oh- I took a "before" picture without a shirt, because really- I don't look so bad in clothes- I want to remember...so I'll never go back.
