Default This baby loooves refined carbs!!

I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant and I feel like Carbs are taking a cold revenge on me for not eating them in the past! Lol

All I can stomach right now are refined carbs, not even veggies! Fruits are some what OK. I can't even look at meat without getting sick...

So right now, Im living out of brown rice, bread, granola bars and the occasional pasta... Thanks goodness for prenatal vitamins!!

When I was pregnant in first trimester I could only handle frozen fruit pops - that's it. My husband said it was torture watching me TRY to eat. So... I feel ya... it is HARD. The baby needs near to nothing right now though, so just do what you can and up the protein as soon as you can.

Yum! I could totally live on refined carbs, so that sounds like an awesome menu to me! Congrats on being preggo, and I hope you're feeling ok!!

berryblondeboys : the funny part is that I never had problems with my two girls other than the usual morning sickness right after I wake up, but no food problems whatsoever!!! I feel like a first timer!!

summerkate83: Right!??? Hahaha Thanks! I'm feeling great other than the no-able-to-eat-normal thing.

I so regret eating starch and sugar in the first trimester. I craved it tons, but it turns out it actually made my nausea and exhaustion worse (and I gained a ton of weight in a hurry, too). When I detoxed back off of carbs at about twelve weeks it was the absolute best decision I could have made. I felt WORLDS better.

When I was pregnant with my first ( man that was 16 years ago, crap this 34 year old feels old) I had a hard time eating and my doc told me to eat what I could. I know u don't want to sky rocket with unhealthy weight gain but after you leave the first trimester u should be able to resume healthy eating.

When i was pregnant i had a serious case of nausea in the first trimester. SERIOUS. I carried my stomach in my mouth all the time, with afternoons being the worst. The only thing able to stop that feeling was pasta.....seriously, i am not joking. Anything else made me wanna vomit. So i took in pasta.....nothing else.....:/ COngratulations.

With my first, I survived on popsicles and very little else as almost anything, including a glass of water could make me sick. With my second, I could eat anything my little heart desired (and did!). I lost weight with my first and ended up in the hospital once from dehydration and gained a lot of weight with my second. (Both girls, BTW.) My dr told me that which ovary the pregnancy came from can dictate your hormone levels and its very normal to have very different pregnancies.

You'll make it! And definitely - CONGRATS!!!

Mozzy: You are right Thanks!

Arctic Mama: I feel great other than the food looking disgusting! Haha But it's getting better. I'm not having morning sickness at all other than the icky feeling at night. I am surprise that I haven't gain any weight, but my stomach does look way bigger. I have to admit that carbs are keeping me regular, which I appreciate specially considering that I am taking prenatals...

chubbiegurl: I know! I'm not eating the "healthiest" right now but I am keeping track of my calories... I don't want to put on unnecessary weight if I don't have to. I am also excersising 3xweek. - Thanks!! ))

Ellemphriem: Sorry to hear you had such a horrible time!! Pasta rocks! Haha Thanks!

BeachBreeze2010: That's interesting! I never thought about that! Thanks )

Food aversion sucks. I get lots of that at first, and nausea up the wazoo, though thankfully I rarely lose it

Magnesium supplements are SO helpful if you struggle with regularity, and they have the added benefit of stopping muscle spasms and cramps, too. Between that and my four+ cups of veggies per day, I can't say constipation has ever been an issue! The supplement is a big improvement, even where the diet might not be ideal. An iron free prenatal (unless you're like me and actually anemic, in which case ferrous gluconate is the most easily assimilated and least binding dietary iron form) might help with that, too. Just some ideas
