Default All my clothes are ugly and nothing looks good

I know, I know... this is a good thing. But I am annoyed and have to wake up earlier everyday to compensate for the time I have been spending just trying to find an outfit that doesn't look like a potato sack. Pants. I hate pants.

I so know that feeling, I am in between sizes and it's like my body is trying to figure out what the heck to do with me. My waist on some pants is so tight I can't breathe with the button done but these same pants the legs are baggier than ever so at this point, they are already a goner.

Are you able to stop at a consignment shop or the Goodwill and see what you can find at a bargain that might pull you through a size or 2? I was so anti-Goodwill when I started this diet. Now that my sizes are literally changing by the month I can't spend any more serious money on clothes. $20 to get a pair of professional looking pants (and wearing them twice a week) is ok for me, but anything more than that is out of the budget when I am already growing out of the smaller clothes I bought at the first of the year.

I'm excited and frustrated at the same time! Good luck finding a few things, some of the stuff I got at Goodwill was brandnew with tags for $2.50.

I had to get clothes as I went along as it did my confidence a number if I felt frumpy. Better fitting clothes make you look thinner and when you are working so hard on getting thinner, it's nice to be able to SEE that progress.

I scoured the Goodwill, clearance racks at places like TJMaxx, Sears, Marshalls, and found a decent consignment shop. I got a few nice looking pieces for cheap for the trip down. 20s-18s-16s-14s-12s-10s which is where I am now. Near goal I'm between an 8-10. And THEN I got a lot of cute clothes as I knew those were forever clothes. Or, as forever as the fashions change.

I agree with berry - Goodwill/Salvation Army it up for now until you settle into a stable maintenance weight.

Good job on not fitting into those clothes anymore! Keep it up

I totally get what you're going through! My tops are all saggy and dresses are a nightmare right now because my midsection refuses to budge! I'm down one solitary inch on my lower abdomen when I'm down two or three everywhere else, so my pant legs are baggy or I look like I'm smuggling tires in dresses! I have a pair of 24W pants that fit my legs like a glove. They are however at least 4 inches away from buttoning, so by the time that happens, they'll be too baggy in the legs!

Leggings have been a lifesaver for me. I wear them with my too big tops (usually belted in the middle to make tunics) or under the dresses that fit.

I wear yoga pants to work pretty much every day. They can span a range of weight so I don't mind buying them new (necessary for work, I think, as they do start to look faded and less professional after washing). And as an apple/goblet shape, they have enough give in the waist to fit comfortably while still having a more slim fit in the legs.

also, on a practical note, try picking out your clothes the night before - it may not take any less time to find things in your closet that don't frustrate you but at least it's not in the morning when you are trying to get out the door!

I did the Goodwill shopping in between sizes too. I found one in a wealthy neighborhood and they had barely used well made name brand clothes for $2-3 a piece. Banana Republic, Gap, etc. I even found a Burberry purse for $15 and that was my favorite! It just needed to be professionally cleaned.

Wrap dresses can be a savior because they can be adjusted through a few sizes.

I feel your pain - I currently fit well into "Large" tops but I have a ton of "Extra Large"s hanging in my closet that I hate to get rid of because they're perfectly good but they really drape all over me. They're practically indecent given how wide the necks are, so I haven't worn them in a couple months. I need to suck it up and donate them.

I've been a bit lucky on pants - I can wear jeans to work, so I just buy 2-3 in each size in a brand I know I like on eBay, and usually end up paying $15-$25 each including shipping. It's also fun to buy a size down in advance and keep trying it on until that magical day when it fits!

The one time I did need to dress up for work recently it was a mix of sad/awesome. I really underestimated how big my old dress pants would look on me, even some that used to be too tight to wear. There was no way I could wear them (I'm not even sure they would have stayed up). I finally had to go with a pair of black jeans and heels and call it a day.

Definitely feel your pain. I don't think any of my clothes fit properly, trying to avoid buying new clothes right now though.

I have to pick out my clothes the night before or I'll never get to where I'm going in the morning. I've gotten into this awful habit of trying on just about everything in my closet before I feel that I look okay.

I am going through this too. My SOLITARY pair of jeans that I was wearing literally every single day ripped on Thursday. Horror of all horrors because I only have 2 pairs of really baggy too-big pants and then the rest of my jeans require me to lose another 5-10. So I literally have no pants.

I went out this weekend to try and find a pair of cheap tranisition jeans, found nothing, got even more depressed trying on clothes.

And the jeans that ripped I actually really loved and didn't make me look fat, they made me look kind of normal.

So now I have the choice of either:
super baggy unflattering jeans/pants
yoga pants
a pair of super tight jeans that I shouldn't be wearing until I drop another 5 lb that I think are not flattering at all (kinda make me look fat).

*cries*

Oh gosh, that can be tough.
What I've also noticed is that stores tend to have seasonal sales. I think this means about 4 major sales a year... I've found amazing things on sale in the past!
