Default New and need the motivation

Hello. I'm new to these types of blogs/post but I think I need to try something, anything new.
I started reading some posts and realize it does help to read about other people and that they are going through the same things.
It's come to a point for me when I think about my weight first thing in the morning (looking in the mirror, getting ready for work)and last thing before I go to bed. Not to mention the time in between. I keep having these flashes of a thinner me doing the daily things that I am doing. Essentially I am waiting for that thinner me to live my life. That thinner me buying a new wardrobe, looking cute and feeling comfortable in my clothes, having a bf. I'm scared that I'm wasting my life just waiting to be happy when I can do something about it now. I have great motivation when I start but its just continuing that's the challenging part.
So here is my time to start something new and see how it helps me. See how getting my thoughts down and reading from others really help. Basically I'm done waiting for the thinner version of myself to magically pop up and ready to be her. No more waiting to live my life and be happy and comfortable in my own skin.

Getting through the 'enough is enough' and having that mental click that initiates your change is a big step. I think you'll find that once you form new habits all of the rest falls into place more easily with a positive attitude and lots of support

I am new to the forums as well and I find reading many of the posts extremely beneficial. Not only can you find useful information and lots of support, but also a perspective that really fosters your new lifestyle.

Welcome and congrats on your progress so far!

Kayala is right about the 'enough is enough' point!

This Forum is extremely helpful, both for support and for advice, tips, suggestions. Wonderful people here.

Looks like you've already lost 6 lbs, which is a good start. What are you doing?

You are right life is too short to waste time being unhappy.
Establish a list of things that you would like to address and let that be your starting point.
I was driving the other day to work and I have a running conversation in my head (I commute 45 miles 1 way to work) and I told myself I feel like my OLD SELF ! Which is a great thing...when I young I was the skinny kid who could eat whatever I wanted over the years things changed.
But that feeling of being my old self brought such peace over me ...like when you just Aced a big test ! I soo missed the old me I refused to even gaze at my own image in the mirror when I overweight...cuz in my head There was No Fat Girl only in the mirror or pictures was there someone that I did not recognize.
I failed over the years to put myself on the list of important things that I should nurture and like a plant that is not properly cared for my blooms were lack luster. I was happily nurturing everyone around me and being selfless when I should have carved out some time for myself. I have now developed a better balance in my life and I have enhanced my family and friends with a healthier me .
So if I could impart to you what has been beneficial for me is being ...positive and resilient. Don't waste time beating yourself up over mistakes ...lesson learned and move on.
Take this time to focus not obsess and formulate a doable plan for yourself.
There is only 1 perfect diet ...that's the 1 that you can make work for you.

I wish much luck with your weight loss and enjoy this time of rediscovering yourself, Roo2

YAYY! i was in your shoes! and sord of still am.. im fairly new and i can say that people are on here will and are helping me! i have received nothing but positive motivation and support and i am extremely happy as to where im going and what im doing! you are in the right place and at the right time in your life to begin the rest of your life... YOU CAN DO IT! dont ever feel like you cant!
its hard very hard! but remember that it will happen and tkae ur time to figure out what works best for you! DONT STARVE YOURSELF... it makes it worst... ur gonna feel poopy the first couple days but then after a week or 2... ur like OK OKOK... this isnt that bad.... we are all here for words of encouragement and we care! but before you start anything... GET INTO THE RIGHT MINDSET! this helps cuz if ur mind is in it... then everything else will fall into place!
