Today is my first day here.... I posted the below on a other thread too but I don't really know the rules here yet.


Hi! I'm 35 with 3 kids too.... Just turned 11, 9, and 19 months. My life has been totally crazy lately. I started my weight loss journey last July when we went on vaca to Disney. I figured with all the exercise that week I may as well keep it up and lose all the baby weight. I exclusively breastfeed until the baby was 15months so I had to be careful in the beginning. I started at 202 size tight 14 and today I am 166 comfortable size 10. My goal is size 6-8 145 lbs. but I officially weigh less than I did before getting pregnant with my middle child

My oldest was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetics on November 29. She was very ill and ended up in ICU for 5 days! I have never been so devastated and desperate to help any of my children in all my life. I'm a seriously devoted mom and I can tell you I would have done anything to stop what she went through/is going through. The positive side is that now I know what is wrong I have been full force in research mode and have gotten her BS down from over 500 at diag to a consistent 80-130. The doctors tell me this is remarkable progress!

In addition to my daughters illness I had a very close family member die the day after she was admitted to the ICU. November wasn't such a great Month.

Through all of this my desperate need to lose weight FOR MYSELF seemed to be such a silly thing. But even through all that has happened lately I am kind of proud that I didn't gain a single pound back that I lost I missed my end of year goal for myself of 150 lbs but not by that much. Hopefully you guys can help keep me on track.

I just bought my first size 8 jeans in 15 years!!! A little tight still but I'm getting I to these suckers soon. I promise myself they are gonna be motivation .

I can't move off 166lbs..... Seems like my body likes that number. Grrrr

Am I over sensitive???? I had somebody grab my belly that I'm trying so desperately to get rid of. They were obviously playing and it wasn't actually inappropriate given who it was. But it hurt my feelings since I'm working so hard. I think I've made progress. I tried on a pair of shorts that I used to LOVE a few years ago. They literally fall down now. I have a long way to go but slow progress is better than no progress.

Anybody else ever have a loved one not realize they really made you feel bad???

Mo3, I don't think it is ever appropriate for another person to be grabbing our body parts......except maybe a husband and even then I don't think grab is the appropriate word.
Congratulations on your loss and keep up the good work, you are doing remarkably well with your daughter. I have a Diabetes Type 2 son, older than your daughter, I am sorry to say he is not taking care of himself as he should. I promised him I wouldn't nag him but it is difficult to see what he is doing to himself.

Maybe grab was the wrong word. But thanks. I kniw I'm just really sensitive. Thanks for tge support with my daughter ! I wish the best for u and your son!!!!! It is such a worry when our kids have challenges we can't fix.hugs !

That's really great that you have been able to lose all the weight despite the difficult times you have gone through. I give you a lot of props for being able to do that! I have a bad habit of using food for comfort when I am going through hard times. I am sure that the pounds will continue to come off. Don't get discouraged! You've made it through the hardest point of the year (the holidays).
