Hi! I am new here. Looking for support as I try to make some changes this year.
I have yo-yoed up and down with my weight for as long as I can remember. After having 2 kids back to back I finally got in shape two years ago when I discovered a passion for running. I completed my first half marathon May 2012 and I felt amazing.
Unfortunately, I have never been able to get my eating under control. As long as I trained, I could keep my weight steady. I suffered some setbacks after my half-marathon last year and could not run for over 4 months. As a result, I gained a bunch of weight! I sustained an injury to my foot and I also had two surgeries which took me out of the game.
I am finally feeling healthy and have started running again. But my eating is out of control. I decided to try what worked for me in the past- low carb. Hoping this time around it sticks.
Good luck! I feel your pain, I've always found it easier to exercise (and you did marathons, wow) than controlling intake - but unfortunately, it doesn't take much to sideline the activity after an injury or other events. Sorry about that, hope they get better, in the meantime, happy low carb. You'll find plenty of other low-carbers here to help!
