Default Not getting too excited this time.

I've decided that this year I'll be much more realistic. I start each new year pumped and over excited and then I feel horrible when I fail. Instead this year I'm looking at it from a new perspective. It's just a new way of thinking. No big fad diet, no huge unattainable goal. Just watching my portions and cutting out the junk. My biggest plan is to get moving. Not sitting here on the computer. Once a day I'll go utilize the workout machine in the basement or pop in the wii fit or my Biggest Loser game. At least until the weather breaks then I hope to start walking. I HAVE to change. I'm 43 now and well over 100 lbs over weight. I have a Freshman high schooler son and a freshman college age daughter. I want to meet my grandchildren and to do that something needs to happen NOW.
p.s. can someone remind me how to change my tracker because that's about 5 lbs. too high and you know I want to fix that! lol

I need to learn to relax too. I get way too fixated and then blow it.

Good luck, penor!

For me, slow and steady wins the race. I saw someone's ticker on here that said something about "I can't lose 100lbs but I can lose 10lbs 10 times" and that always sticks in the back of my head.

Days that I can't do an hour of walking, I will do 20 minutes 3 times (or even just 10 minutes 3 times). I find every little bit helps. I cut out alcohol and junk food too (I'm not good at portion control of chips, beers, pizza, etc.).

I couldn't have made the progress I have without this site (and I use myfitnesspal.com to track my calories online and on my phone).

We can do this!
