Let's Do This

  • OK, I am in. 5'11, M, 34, 262lbs (mostly in my gut) with a disability. Been dabbling with WW and various diets over the past ten years and it never works. Need to start counting calories religiously--MFP is a good app and a place to start. 1500 calories a day featuring Veggies and protein. And need to stop slurping down so much beer. <----- My Main Issue

    I have been exercising at the gym--either swimming or elliptical and weights and plan to go 3 times a week minimum. I work at a desk 50 hours a week, so there is that.

    Doing this for my wife who is fed up with me, doing this for my dad who needs help too, and doing it for me--want to look better in the buff ya know?


    Just need support and motivation.

  • Welcome Nick and good luck! Another Newbie here too. I hear you on the beer, for me it's wine. I am totally giving it up at least initially though and will then allow myself a weekly treat of a glass or two. If I do more often than that it leads to bad food choices. Like beer, it goes really well with food!
  • Hey Nick! My husband and I are dieting together, makes it easier on both of us! We both have 20 pounds to lose; my weakness is RockStar Light Vanilla Roasted coffee drinks. YUM!! If I can curb my addiction to that, I'm well on my way! Good luck to both of us in standing up to these demons of coffee drinks and beer! Stay strong!!!
