Default College Admissions Help?

Sorry to be so random!

I was hoping someone could help me....

I'm helping a friend look at the requirements for a university program and I'm not sure what this means:

"In addition to the general University requirements, School of Nursing applicants must have completed at least 15 secondary school units in college preparatory work. Included must be: four years of English; two years of Algebra; one year of Chemistry with a laboratory; a Physics course either in high school or college; one year of History; an additional year of History or a Social Science, and two years in a single Foreign Language.
"

I think of my own college experience in terms of credits and semesters, not years. When they say years do they mean 2 semesters worth? And when they say "15 secondary school units in college prepetory work" are they talking about High School?? Thanks

I would interpret this to be referencing High School coursework. They are referring to the number of school years, rather than to semesters or terms.

When in doubt, contact the school. I have just got into grad school after a 30 year break from my undergrad degree and I found it very helpful to the process to work with a live person before I got too far into the process. Turned out to be very useful when I missed a key deadline on one of the web pages. Because the department I was applying to already "knew" me, they made an exception to let me start classes in January instead of waiting another six months!

Also agree - this is what they want to see you coming out of high school with.

Normally, most accredited schools fulfill all those requirements when you graduate, so you shouldn't worry about it.
