Smile It sounds too good to be true :\ HMM

Okay so hi again.
This is a post about my daily calorie intake again.

I downloaded an app another friendly user suggested and it's pretty cool.
It says I should be eating 2140 calories per day.

I had a few snacks and I'm just over 1000 calories if that... I feel like a pig (no offense) but I don't see how eating so much food can help me lose weight...

Is it safe to eat that much???
Will I still lose weight? It seems almost too good to be true!

Thanks, hope you're all doing well

How did you calculate that number? Did you take into account your lifestyle activity level?

If you are a very active person, than yes, you need that many calories.
I'm a sedentary person, so I need way less calories.
Does that make sense?

Did it say you should be eating 2,140 cals per day to maintain your current weight or to lose X pounds of weight per week? If 2,140 is your maintenance level (which sounds about right to me), you would need to eat about 500 less per day (1,640) to lose a pound per week.

I agree it sounds about right for maintenance level... but I can't imagine losing weight on it unless you are extremely active.

sounds like a lot to me, too.My suggestion go over your figures again and reenter everything just to be sure. This whole dieting thing does take some trial and error, do not get discouraged, keep trying.

Freelancemomma has it right, to lose weight you'll need to minus some of those calories out(500 or so). You can then add your fitness and eat some of those if you need them, you should still have success.
If these formulas work on me, they should work on anyone. My body never wants to lose -but once I began this approach, things are happening finally. ( I stalled for a bit). Good luck to you!

That's got to be a maintenance number because that's close to what it was recommending me at nearly 450 lbs. Start at 1500 and see how you feel. If you're full, and don't feel weak/tired, go from there.

Pretty much what everyone else said, sounds like maintenance, but you should eat more than 1000 of course
