Ready to get healthy
Hi!
I'm a 22-year-old almost college grad who has been overweight since middle school. In high school, I was very active--I played field hockey and softball and I swam on the swim team, and was still hovering just under the "obese" mark.
When I left home for college, I stopped playing sports, quit working out, made friends who never had to worry about weight (which really affected my eating habits), and, shocker, gained twenty pounds. It's now 4 and a half years later, and I'm ready to get back into shape. I realize that if sixteen-year-old me could run twenty+ miles a week (when I wasn't in the pool for fifteen hours a week), lift three days a week, eat like my perpetually-on-a-diet mother, and *still* weigh 180 pounds, I'm never going to be a thin woman. Still, I miss being able to walk up several flights of stairs without getting winded and being able to beat my guy friends at arm wrestling contests.
I also miss my jaw line. It has recently disappeared, and I want it back.
I'm looking forward to re-becoming the healthiest me I can be, despite numbers on a scale or sewn onto the inside of my jeans. I'm hoping I can find some support here to keep me on track!
