Default Jerky?

Is anyone else here a fan? I positively adore it, it's low carb, low calorie and high protein.

I've been making my own with a machine I bought with some of the venison from hunting season (I'm sorry to those of you that are sensitive, but my family only kills what they eat, which is one deer). It's amazing with some mesquite seasoning on it and from what I've researched, only 80 calories for 1 oz, which is actually a lot of jerky!

I also enjoy jerky - especially my Papa's homemade smoked venison jerky (sadly he hasn't made it in ages). Jack Links at the store is yummy, but way high in sodium.

Jerky is my go to food for long drives. We drive Cali often and I have to bring along some turkey jerky. Its way low in cals and very tasty. High in salt, but I love it!

I'm a jerky fan too! And we grew up eating venison.

I love jerky! When I was a band nerd in high school, we used to head to Houston for the Foley's parade to participate in All-Star band. There was a little shop there that made tons of different types of jerky. One of my favorites was turkey jerky! I pulled my nose up to it for a minute, but after I tried it, OMG.

My husband makes a fantastic hamburger jerky. It's become part of my weight loss. It's a great snack for me when I get hungry and dinner time is a long way away.
