Hi everyone!
I have been wanting to lose weight for years now and I always put it off, saying oh I'll start eating better tomorrow, I'll start working out tomorrow, etc. Well finally I'm doing it now! My weight gain started about 4 years ago. In my late teens I ate like crap but hovered at a weight that was slightly overweight by BMI standards, but I still looked good. Then I went on birth control in the form of the depo shots. Big mistake! I gained weight practically exponentially on it and finally after a year switched to an IUD. I am more balanced on it , but the hormones from the depo will take a long time to wear off. After gaining all the weight from the depo, I was also eating terribly. I have an extreme weakness for dessert and on top of that I was eating WAY too many calories a day. So then I gained even more weight and reached an all time high weight of 237 lbs.
Finally I have put my foot down starting a couple of weeks ago. I now track all of my calories vigilantly using myplate every day and I am starting to introduce some light exercise into my days 3 times a week (at least that's my goal lol). Just by cutting out the overeating and severely cutting down on the amount of dessert I eat, I have lost 10 lbs. I feel great about it!
Some goals for me are hitting 200 lbs, 170 lbs, and maybe eventually 150 lbs...depending how I feel/look at that weight. My boyfriend had buddied up with me and we will be doing a couch to 5k program together. Last night was our first walk/run and it felt really good. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was
Anyways, sorry for the babbling! I'm excited to be here and finally kick start my journey to

loving my body and feeling healthier!
