Default Day 4 of my new diet.

Hey everyone. So as the headline says, it's day 4 of my diet and I've been eating nothing but healthy food but for some reason today I just want to eat eat eat! I'm craving the worst things. I know it's only been 4 days so I this normal or am I doomed?

I think it's normal to start craving some things a few days in, especially if you've been really good about staying on track. It's almost like your body finally realizes that this change doesn't seem to be temporary, and it's going "what the heck?" It wants the junk and it wants the calories it's used to getting or something!

If you are able to control your portions, allow yourself some of what you are missing. If not, just muddle on through. These things always pass.

Thanks for your answer. At least I know it's not just something that I am going through and it's normal. I think I'm gonna just have my healthy dinner and hopefully the feeling goes away. I'm at work right now an my coworkers are ordering a pizza! Ugh this is gonna be tough!! Lol

Cravings are going to be their worst right now. It takes me a few weeks to adjust to a healthy low calorie diet. Hang in there! I'm on day three and am having lots of cravings.

It is totally normal! It takes a while for the chemicals, sugar, and whatever that are in your system to work their way out. A lot of those things are addictive and once you get used to not eating them, you will not crave them so much. Congratulations on your new start. I am glad you found us and hope you feel free to jump right in anywhere you would like. It's a very friendly place.

I have had a really bad craving for fries, so tonight I made some baked sweet potato fries. I also have a really bad sweet tooth, so a few nights a week i'm having a small portion of blueberries with light cool whip or the 90 cal fiber one snacks, the brownie and chocolate chip cookie kind. They kind of taste like cardboard, lol.. but I get a tiny chocolate fix. Next week I plan on making pizza, whole wheat dough, a homemade garlic sauce, with chicken and onions. Going healthy doesn't mean you can't eat the foods you like, there seems to be a healthy alternative to everything. Moderation is key!

Thanks misti. It does seem like a very welcoming place and I'm grateful to have found it! All those ideas sound pretty good I might have to try some of em.

I'm currently allowed to have 1800 calories ( I have a lot of weight to lose) but I haven't been eating that many. The most I've consumed since started is 1500.

What is "healthy food" mean? Is this similar to eating "clean"?

Funny you should say that John. I skimmed through that book, but not really "clean" per se. I've just been eating veggies an fruits. Chicken breast & baked cod. Things I'm not really use to. Before I would eat a lot of fast food.

Why? Where are you getting your information from? Eggs are one of nature's best foods. What's wrong with dietary cholesterol?

To be honest John, I don't really have much information. I'm just learning and I guess I'm just going on what people around me say.

ok, i was just wondering if you were eating some TINY amount of calories that was leaving you hungry, but it sounds like you're right on track!

ive heard a lot of talk about almond milk but i just stick to skim, im not really sure what the benefits of almond milk are.. maybe i should look into it.

as far as eggs go, i still eat plenty of regular eggs. if its just something you heard around maybe consider looking into it to make sure you're not wasting money/losing nutrition.

I kinda feel like 1800 is too much to lose weight. I just actually like the taste of the almond milk. I find skim milk to taste watered down. As far as the eggs go, I have looked online and it seems that having one egg with a few more egg white is alright. I guess I can just switch it up.
