Default Increased hunger from exercise!!

Has anyone else ever dealt with increased REAL hunger from exercise?
When I started running I would get a little bit extra hungry and last night I ran 2 miles and I woke up this morning VERY hungry. I am *never* hungry in the mornings. I am one of those people that can always skip breakfast as I prefer to intermittent fast.
And it's a hunger I can't ignore.. like I get crabby, irritable.. can't concentrate.

I am wondering if having some sort of protein directly after running will help me waking up ravenous the next morning? I run at night.

It's very easy for me to over-do calories when I up my exercise and then I end up not losing weight but maintaining my weight. Frustrating!

Sometimes when I go above and beyond my normal routine, I'll get really REALLY hungry within the hour after finishing. I remember going for a bike ride that I had intended to only be 7 miles long, but ended up doing 16 and all I could think about was eating the biggest cheesiest breadiest burger afterward! One of my workout buddies suggested after we had an extra intensive Aqua Fit class that I eat some protein before I went home and gave me a little baggie of raw almonds she had in her bag. It really did help; by the time I got back to my house my appetite was under control and I had a normal size dinner and woke up feeling fine the next day. She usually carries a little baggie of raw almonds or protein bar on her and I started keeping some in my gym bag as well, just in case. It's worth a shot
