Hello Everyone. I'm new to the forum.

  • I have been struggling with being overweight for about 10 years now. I used to be very thin but then in my 20's I gained about 60lbs. I'm 30 years old now and am determined to have the body that I once had.

I stepped on the scale on October 18, 2012 and I was horrified when I saw that I was 174lbs when I'm only 5'3. Most of the weight I gained went straight to my waist. I have a belly that hangs out of everything. I only feel comfortable wearing baggy t-shirts' and track pants. I can't find anything that fits properly. My measurements then were 42, 41, 40.

As soon as I saw 174, I decided to make some lifestyle changes. All I ever ate was fast food and crap. I would have chips and chocolate for breakfast and then eat stuff like doughnuts throughout the rest of the day. The only beverage that I ever drank was Coke. I love Coke! I never thought I would be able to stop drinking it. I would have 5-7 cans a day!

I took all of the crap food out of my diet and will only be eating healthier from now on. I have cut out coke, fast food, and junk food completely. I have started to use the treadmill, and I just decided to walk up 13 flights of stairs every day, I have done it twice now.

Anyway, since cutting out coke and crap from my diet I have lost a total of 11lbs in about 3 weeks, I am now down to 163. I would love to lose 33 more pounds.

I can't wait to get to know everyone!
  • That's wonderful that you've taken those healthy steps. Congrats on losing 11 lbs already! But even if you didn't lose that much, you'll reap so many rewards for eating better!!!!
  • Welcome and congrats on the weight you've lost so far! I just started taking my weight and eating habits seriously last month too. Like you, I was always thin, but the last 10 years my body has seen a HUGE increase. You'll like these forums; the girls here are so encouraging and motivating. Hope to see you in one of the threads!
