Default Sugarcrashing? When/what/how

Not sure if this is the right spot to put this, but I just wanted to know if the terrible migraine-like headache I had for about five hours last night is normal when you start changing your diet and cutting things like sugar out of your diet?

I usually have a little bit of sugar, but not too much, though yesterday when this happened I hadn't had even a single piece of sugar outside of those in things like fruits in over 5 days. After having a bit of peanut butter (in a satay sauce with dinner and then as a peanut milkshake with greek yoghurt & ice cream instead of just ice cream) I found my headache faded back.

Is this normal, or should I get this checked out or something? It freaked me out a little and I honestly felt dreadful for ages, so... anyone know?

Migraines are common when you are first cutting out things like caffeine, alcohol, sugar and other unhealthy things out of your diet. I think you're best off not giving in to the headache. If you keep giving in to it, you'll never get the thing out of your diet that you're trying to eliminate. The headache should go away by the following day. If you have to, time your dietary change for a time that you can sleep it off, which is the only thing that works for me when I have a migraine. Once I get through that first day, the headache goes away. The cravings take a little bit longer.

Thanks. My family has a history of some weirdly bad head related stuff when it comes to aches and migraines, so was a little worried about it. Now? I think I'll just take some pain killers and dark room/sleep it off. Thanks though
