Red face Newbie, trying to lose with Paul McKenna

Hi all

I've been heavy the majority of my life and get heavier after every diet. So I'm hoping to break the cycle by trying something different. Starting Paul McKenna's system tomorrow,

Wish me luck

I'm not familiar with Paul McKenna's system, but I hope you have found something that works for you! Best of luck on your weight loss goals, and welcome to 3FC!

I have just ordered the McKenna program from Amazon. I learned about it from a buddy on the FatSecret site. I was looking for something that would help me regain God given instincts for food that I had as a child and young adult. I was always thin and loved exercise and started having problems when my children were young. When they were very little I still got good exercise by going out for at least an hour a day in their two seater pram with our Great Dane. Then when they got old enough to walk but were inclined to stop and sniff the roses I started putting on the lbs. I lost quite a lot with The Hilton Head Diet in 1996 and kept it off for a few years, then lost again with WW but it has been on my mind lately that I need to get back to the way I ate when I was young and even as an adult and naturally thin. I remember telling my mother and sisters, who struggled with weight, that if there was too much food it was going to waste anyway and better it be wasted in the trash than on your body as stored fat. I remember when that seemed logical to me and I want to get back to that way of thinking. I know I am an emotional eater. I would love to hear how you are getting on. I am new to this site but maybe we can be buddies, not sure how to go about that.

I have literally tried everything under the sun to lose weight, and yet I keep coming back to my binge/restrict cycle of comfyness

I have ordered my Paul Mckenna book off amazon, and I have come to terms with the fact that I don't need a diet. I need to change my mindset. I know what I should be eating and how much I should be eating, I just don't do it.

I would love to keep this thread going with you guys! update me on your progress!
