Hello All,
So, I am going out for dinner (real dinner, not with a girlfriend) where I have to pretend to be an emotionally stable person, whom does not regard food as their absolute worst nightmare.
So, I am looking at this menu. It all looks delicious (meat is my favourite food group) hahah. What would you have? I am going to try to eat lighter all day, and getting a studio session in, but "just having something I want" isn't really what I want to do, since I will be travelling/eating out for the next week or so and I am worried about calories.
No, getting the salad is not an option. Suggestions? I am probably going to try to do the "eat half" approach- but that generally doesn't work out for me well....
I'd help, but even getting close to the screen I cannot read the menu. The writing is too tiny. When I clicked the link all I could read were the headers.
Yeah, the menu was a little small, but I think I got the gist of it. When I go out to eat I always try to order stuff I couldn't or wouldn't make at home. For me, there's no thrill in just ordering a plain chicken dish and a side of green salad. I also prefer to order something small enough that I can eat the whole thing without feeling guilty. (Even as a young child I've never enjoyed eating when I know I'm not allowed or expected to finish.)
If I had this menu in front of me I would order:
1. two lamb sausages
2. spinach spaetzle
3. spicy vegetable salad.
Wow. That's a pretty limited menu! I am doing low carb and low fat, so I try to avoid places like this! But I would probably have the smoked chicken. For my sides I would be interested in trying the smoked asparagus and (after finding out what was in the spicy vegetable salad) I would either go with that or possibly the Greeque salad.
If it's not too late-I saw a halibut dish on there. perhaps they would fix you some nice fish w/o the cornmeal crust? Sometimes restaurants will make an adjustment like that.
hey chickies thanks for the advice, it was a great theory- freelance, i was planning to do exactly what you had mentioned, irony was that apparently these people change their menu like everyday.
did a 2 person "taster" it came with the pork ribs, chicken, and brisket, and had pickled veg, ceasar salad and veg salad as the sides, i TRIED the ribs, had some brisket and a chicken thigh, as well as some of the salads/veg.
overall, meat consumption probably a little high- but i don't think i did too bad ! 0 grains were involved lol which always makes me feel moderately better.
You're better than me! I'm a meat fan as well and want EVERYTHING on that menu. I probably would have split an appetizer, gotten the sampler (eaten a portion of it to save room for dessert), and then had dessert if I wasn't dying and called the day a treat and then followed it with a pretty strict rest of the week and called it worth it. This is also possibly why I only rarely eat out.
