I'm Debbie. A 41yr old mom of 5, married to the love of my life for 2 years, and a lifestyle photographer living in the Austin TX area. (which reminds me that I probably should look at my profile)
I never had weight issues until I got pregnant with my last child. I had a very difficult pregnancy with a lot of complications, a difficult delivery, and it seemed like after that I couldn't get the weight off.
After I discovered my husband (now ex) was cheating, I went on the divorce diet.. unintentionally of course, and lost all of the weight I'd gained. I was 128lbs and a size 1. I kept it off for 18 months before I began gaining again. I was happy, so I ate. A lot. And I drank. A lot.
I went several diets but never stuck to them. I tried Atkins for awhile and it was working. I just tired of it. I went on South Beach.. same thing. And my weight yo-yo'd
Now.. here I am. I began at a shameful 198lbs on a small frame with a height of 5'7". I went lower carb, gluten free (I'm intolerant), and basically pescatarian.. which is a vegetarian who eats seafood for those who didn't know. I lost 18 lbs over the last month or so without really keeping track of the scale too much.
I'm hardcore now. I'm back on Atkins.. modifying it a bit to add more healthy fat. I've been on it 3 days. I no longer drink. I'm exercising at the gym 2-3 days a week, and spending an hour twice a week at karate class. I'm determined to get back into a size 5 and I'd love to talk to anyone who is interested in mutual support. I have a lot of failures in dieting, and a few successes. I'm very happy to share any information that I can.
