Jumping off from the very popular "What would you say to your once heavier self?" thread, I challenge you to push away all the negative thoughts about how long weight loss is taking and how hard it is, and for a moment picture the day that you step on the scale (or do whatever you do to measure progress) only to realize that you made it! What will you say to yourself?
i'd think "you did it!" and be genuinely proud of myself...i like the idea of taking a photo of it...(once when my dad's car turned 200,000 miles, we stopped on a hill and took a picture and broke open the champagne lol) ...i'd probably do something to celebrate but i'm not sure what, haven't even thought that far....perhaps buy some new clothes?
I'm definitely in the "you did it!" club! at the same time, I also feel like goal is going to sneak up on me and almost feel anticlimactic. I'll definitely be excited, but I also feel like my journey has been so slow that it's going to take a long, long time, for the realization that I "made it" to sink in. Does that make sense?
I'm getting excited just thinking about what I would say when I get to goal!
I'd probably scream, and laugh (cos I tend to laugh in situations like that), then put some clothes on and run out the bathroom to get my cellphone to take a photo of the number showing on the scale. I'd then phone my mom (if she has left for work already) and phone my boyfriend. And be in an absolute frantic state telling them that I got to goal.
I think I'd say "OMG KATE YOU FINALLY DID IT!! It's about time!!"
Maintenance is way scarier to me than any part of actually losing the weight. Without the encouragement of dropping the pounds I am afraid of how things will go. I will be happy to make it to goal for sure, don't get me wrong, but maintenance is literally forever.
I just really really never want to go back. So I guess I would say: "Congratulations, now make sure you treat yourself well for the rest of your life. Always remember how terrible you used to feel all the time compared to how great you feel now."
