I hope that this doesn't sound crazy but can anyone tell me if there is any kind of FREE running app that I can listen to on my phone that will tell me when to run, when to walk, when to rest, etc? I am needing some structured motivation and I am thinking that if there is an app that will tell me when I need to run, when I need to walk, when I need to rest, when I need to start running again, etc. that will help me.
Does anyone know if anything like that is out there on the internet that I can download to my phone?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

You can download the Couch to 5k program to an ipod--it has a very structured walk/run program on it.
Is it just for the IPOD or can I can download it to my phone?
I have it on my iphone. I don't know about other smart phones.
If you get the official Couch-to-5K app you can get it on apple and android devices, but it costs $1.99. There is another popular, free C25K app by RunDouble, however it looks like it's only the first two weeks of the program that are free and the upgrade costs $1.60. You might want to go to the app store on your phone and search something like 'running app' and see what they have. I myself haven't tried any of these, but I hope this gives you a place to start at least.

I know the couch to 5K app from Zen Labs is available on iphone for free - not sure about Android, but I'm sure there's something if Zen doesn't offer one.
You can listen to your own music while it's running, too.
Good luck running!
