Default Starting tomorrow! A few questions I forgot to ask my coach??

Ok y'all so my mom and me are starting ideal tomorrow! I am going to make a pot of smothered cabbage tonight! Is it okay to use boullion cubes? What about Tasso?

The boullion should be fine as long as there are no carbs (fillers). Tasso is an extremely fatty cut of meat, and probably not a good idea. IP is low carb AND low fat, so see if you can find a pork/ham cut that is lower in fat to still give you the flavor you're looking for.

Thank you! I really thought that tasso was a very lean cut of meat! Blah guess i was wrong! I was just trying to give it some flavor! Thanks again!

Hmm...it does look like there are a few brands that are lower in fat - but they are also very high in sodium/nitrates. I'd still say avoid it if you can, or use a VERY small amount just to flavor the dish but don't eat the meat itself. Nitrates are bad news
