Default Eat this Not That - Book

Has anyone read the book EAT THIS NOT THAT. I just wanted your opinion of it. I was looking at a young lady on youtube and she's ona weight loss journey and done of the things she said was she got lots of ideas from this book in swapping out what she was eating.

I also told her she should check out 3fc because she would fit right in. In oneof her videos she was saying she was getting alot of negative comments on youtube. I told here none of that goes on here.

I have a couple of the books. Some of the suggestions aren't very helpful for me because I don't eat out very often (maybe once a month? Too expensive!) and I never eat fast food (except take-out pizza, which I'm trying to cut way back on).

Actually, it's been a while since I looked at the books. Maybe I'll glance through them when I get home today.

Ya know, I really think those books are geared toward MEN - in fact, I think they were conceived & written by the dudes who put out Men's Health magazine. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but we all know that the menfolk metabolism and weight loss strategies are quite often different (easier? ) than us women.

That being said, I have three of the books. Been trying forever to get my husband in on that train ride!!

I have the supermarket guide; I gave it to my mom and it's been really helpful in showing us the healthier versions of stuff we buy all the time. It also has some pretty interesting recipes in it that all cost under $10.

I will say though: it suggested Land o' Lakes Whipped Butter for the healthiest alternative to margarine -- don't get it, it doesn't spread worth a crap! I want to check out some of the other suggestions to see if I can get a better product and keep the calorie content low.

I bought a couple of those books awhile back... not really sure what I was thinking though, because I don't eat at fast food or chain restaurants... and I don't by any of that stuff in the grocery store either...

So for me, not useful... but I could see how if someone was into that kind of thing it could be helpful... I guess what I'm trying to say is I see how the premise could make some sense to folks out there...

Broke out my books again. I have Eat This, Not That and the Supermarket Survival Guide

In the first, a big chunk is restaurants. Like I said, I don't eat out much. Agree with mimsy about the whipped butter, it's awful!
