Hi, can anyone tell me if This is true... A friend of mine told me I need to have 30 min of sustained cardio to lose weight?.... This sucks for me cause I have 5 kids and I can't pull that off really so I figured I would do 10 min on my exercise bike 3 times a day when they all seem satisfied...
There was a study in the news recently that said for high blood pressure (that was the only factor studied), 10 minutes, three times a day was as effective or more effective at controlling blood pressure than 1 30-minute stint.
And really - even if it's not -as- good for whatever metric, it's better than doing nothing, right?
Hi...,
I think you have power to maintain your body shape. if you are not able to do 30 minutes in one time then split the time in three section i.e 10 minutes 3 times.
I have to laugh cause since I posed this question every time I get on the bike my son decides that is the time he wants to use the big boy potty! So that lone has made me have to break things up!the joys of motherhood ;-)
I think it depends on your goal. If it's cardio vascular fitness than 30 minutes straight is probably best but when it comes to weight loss it's calories burned so it shouldn't matter how you break up the time.
