Default Those darn...summer bugs UGH

How have you all been handling them?
Maybe we can swap ideas.
I try to be clean, but they hatch I think from veggies, so as soon as I throw out the scraps I think that they are hatching - these nasty lil fruit flies. I am now gonna spray some scrubbing bubbles after im done cooking and then first thing in the morning take out hte garbage. Or just take out the garbage that evening. I'll see if that makes a difference - they are just SOOO prevalent!

I think your location makes a difference, too.

I live in Utah, and in the summer time if you don't get your home sprayed - you get desert roaches! Even if your home is spotless, the roaches like the cool and the shade, so they'll find their way inside your home from the elements.

I was amazed how many midges were in my neighbour's house while ours is almost totally midge-free each year until I realised they don't provide lodgings to spiders.

My partner and I are more than happy to have a spider house-guest in every room, and more than one in some. While people get neurotic about cleaning out those cobwebs and getting wobbly over our eight-legged friends, I see the upside as no unwanted pests crawling around my salads and buzzing around my eyes and nose.

And don't forget to hang those dock leaves to keep the bees and wasps away! Or sugar strings for those ants and beer for the slugs and snails.

I swear by geckos as well.
