Default Resistance bands?

Hey guys,

I've been doing a lot of cardio lately because, well, I live in a very spread-out area with no car, so biking my little buns off is really my only option if I don't want to be a hermit. I've been losing, but still look like a flabby mess. Lots of gals on here sing praises for strength training, but unfortunately the heaviest weights I've been able to locate around here are the measly 2kg hand weights that I use for my 30DS and the only gym I've spotted is a whopping 9400 yen per month (about $120 )...on the other hand, I see resistance bands everywhere, and for as little as 100 yen. So my question is, does anyone on here use resistance bands for strength training? If so, any tips for a routine to follow? (Exercises/reps/frequency/bands vs. tubing?)

Thanks!

I did an entire round of p90x with resistance bands and I love them! I would maybe YouTube some videos of resistance band workouts to get you an idea of where to start- but a lot of things that can be done with weights can be done with bands, you just have to be kind of creative and make sure you have good technique.

I can't afford free-weights either, and it's nice because when a band becomes too "light" to challenge me anymore, Its not very expensive to go get a thicker one!

Good luck!
