I have struggled with my weight since I was younger and have been called the "ugly duckling" as many would say. My family didn't seem to think my weight was a problem. It wasn't until elementary - middle school where I was really bullied for my weight that I decided to do something about it. My highest weight was in the 170s at 15yr and 5'1'', that was not healthy and I was only getting bigger. My biggest struggle is that I'm an emotional eater and as my weight grew so did my emotions and more eating followed... I started joining the softball team, working out, and making better choices. I slowly started to shed the pounds over the next 5-7yrs to a new weight of 130lbs. I started to gain some confidence and was less shy around new people. I have tried so many crash and unsuccessful diets that I wanted to find something realistic and long-term. I finally found that something when a friend of mine suggested I download the app called MyFitnessPal. This is a free app and calorie/weight tracker you can download on your smart phone or use online. It has helped me hold myself accountable, track my progress and exercise. It doesn't feel like a typical diet because I can eat whatever I want within the calorie/nutrition guidelines. I'm now 25yr and am down to 113.5, but I have hit a plateau and can't seem to make any more progress. I am hoping to lose the last 7-8lbs, get toned, and be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I thought I would try to use this site to help me with that. I think the support of fellow dieters is important and can keep me on track! : )
