New To South Beach

  • Hi! I'm Christina and I'm about to 32 and decided to try and drop some weight for 1) my birthday, 2) my brother's wedding and 3) a December cruise. I've been all over the scale, 115 to 155 in the past 2 years. I'd like to land right around 125-130, so I've got about 15 pounds to lose. My boyfriend (who has about 25 to lose) and I just started Phase 1 of South Beach last night, and my body is begging me for some carbs! I do Les Mills Body Pump 2-3 times a week, and play softball one night a week, so I'm trying to stay active. Happy I found this board so I can get support and tips from others dieting as well.
  • Nice that your BF is on board with you! I started phase 1 back in January and lost 12 in those first 2 painful weeks. I went to phase 2, lost a couple more, started cheating and now I'm starting to gain some back. Soo this week I went back to phase 1 (still painful) and want to get losing again. I love hard-boiled eggs and eat a lot of them (whites only). I go to Costco once a week and get their chicken salad and sometimes their boiled shrimp. Breakfasts are the worst for me. I've eaten cold cereal every day of my life. I like Atkins protein shakes and Greek yogurt. That's my breakfast now. Good luck to all of us!!
