My name is Emily, I just turned 23 years old and I have been struggling with my weight for as long as i can remember. I am a nurse, and I am also still in school getting my BSN. I work full time, though that may change soon, go to school, and that's about it. My highest weight was 368 lbs when I graduated nursing school August 2nd, 2011. I am currently at 302.8 (though my official weigh-in day isn't until Sunday) I am trying sooo hard to get under 300, because I havent been under 300 since I was 15 years old....Which is said to say. Both of my parents are deceased. I live in my own house with my wonderful boyfriend. I was on another forum previously, but it sort of turned into a Ghost Town, so here I am! I am participating in the Sexy For Halloween Challenge and I am super excited! Hoping to be 265 by Halloween. I look forward to meeting new people and sharing success stories, pictures, etc. Online weight loss communities really help me stay with my diet.

Welcome Emily! Congrats on your success, and good luck on continuing to do well! I'm sure you'll do just fine. You've already done marvelous.
Mind if I ask what plan you've been following?

I've been doing Atkins. It is so super hard to stick to at first, but after a few weeks, it really is just like a lifestyle change. I do have to admit, seeing everyone around me eat burgers and fries and baked potatoes, etc does make me want to eat every carb within eye sight....but when you think about all the progress you have made, it helps to turn away from temptation...my biggest thing now is to get under 300!!!! =) How about you? What plan have you been doing?

Right now I'm counting calories because it's about all I have time for.
Congrats on getting under 300! How exciting!

Congratulations, Emmy, for pushing into that 300 barrier. Will keep my fingers crossed that the scale reading begins with a 2 tomorrow.

Some thread on 3FC stay active, some die out. Look around and you'll find a group that feels a comfortable fit for you.

Good luck.

Thanks Bill! =)

Squish- I'm starting on low calorie diet today, just to see how it works out. My boyfriend is concerned I'm not eating enough on the low carb..soooo he is going to be cooking the meals, etc if I do the low calorie....so I'm going to give it a shot and see what happens =) I'm scared of gaining weight back because I am going back to carbs....but according to the diet calculator on fitclick, if I stick to this low cal, I'll lose about 3.5 lbs a week. Have you ever used fitclick?

Nope, I've never used fitclick - but then I only did vague calorie estimates to get comparisons of different foods. Do you find it useful?

So chuffed for you that you are below 300 for the first time since you were 15- that is brilliant and an inspiration!
