For the first time in my life - I went on vacation and didn't gain!
I am over the moon right now.
I've been back for a couple days and things are settled and I'm sitting here on a rainy day reflecting on my past habits and current state of mind.
Previously; I viewed vacation as a time to be totally lazy, eat whatever I wanted, take 'time off'.... 10+ lb. gains (lots of water too, I'm sure) were common. My mindset is TOTALLY different now. We went up North and hiked and rode horses and had a wonderful time. THIS is the way I want to live my life! It was an amazing experience. I got to show my children so many amazing things. And, when I got home, the scale wasn't a scary experience. For the first time EVER.
I don't ever want to go back to the way I was. EVER.
I went on vacation two weeks ago and came back weighing exactly the same as when I left. Then, the next day, I was almost a pound lower (and it stuck)!
I had eating objectives that I didn't quite meet but I'm glad I tried. And we were pretty active, too - no workouts but lots of standing/walking.
That's great!! I am going on vacation in December and my plan is to stay active and eat pretty well. You inspire me and show me that it can be done!!! Thanks!
Thats awesome Val, seriously! It's good to see that other fit chicks struggle with this and that they can overcome it too. LOL, you know how worried I've been about my upcoming vacation!
That is so awesome - good for you! I was on a girls weekend trip this weekend and while I didn't do amazing eating-wise, I tracked everything, stayed semi-reasonable and was active throughout. I'm hoping my weigh-in tomorrow morning reflects it!
