I just had a kind of long introduction that I tried to post but something went wrong so I am going to try again but this one will be a little shorter. I'm 32 years old, have been married for 13 years and I have 4 boys ages 11,10,8 & 4. I had a total vaginal hysterectomy with rectocele and enterocele repair on 5/30. I feel like now is a good time to start taking better care of myself. I want to get healthy and lose weight...a lot of weight. I am currently 254 lbs and would like to get down to my pre pregnancy high school weight of 130 lbs. Some people have said I will never be that small again but seeing some of the success stories and pics on this Site is very encouraging. I am looking forward to making friends here and motivating others on their weight loss journey and I know I will need encouragement along the way.

Ahh, some people are just afraid you'll look hotter than them when you're done.

Don't let them talk you down, and don't back off from your goals just to accomodate others. Rather, be the example, show them how it's done and start an amazing trend for changing your life in ways they don't even dare to dream of. I know you can do it!

Haha, I agree with Vicky! I think that's a great goal, and good luck to you. There's plenty of support forms and challenges on this site, so my suggestion would be to look some of those up

I think it's great that you're taking the initiative to lose some weight (especially with 4 boys! I'm impressed by your energy, haha!)

Thank y'all so much for the encouraging words! I am so happy I found this site. Just reading posts here is giving me the enthusiasm and motivation to get out there and DO something about my weight instead of sitting here wishing I was healthy and thin. It is going to be a journey and I am going to do it!

I am a newbie too trying to get rid of this pesky baby weight!

SweetPeas, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diets, themes, or age, so find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the 30somethings!
