My head looks so tiny compared to my giant body...
So one thing that bothers me about my weight, apart from the lumps, cellulite and stretch marks, is how ridiculously tiny my head looks compared to the rest of my body. I'm tallish (5'8) and 220 lbs and, while I don't have a particular problem area, I store fat evenly all over! SO my entire body looks like it's two sizes too big for my head.
For both my jobs I need my hair tied back neatly so my pulled back pony tail accentuates the smallness of my head (my head is naturally small too, I wear a S sized hat)
I hate seeing the disproportion in the mirror. Anyone else have this problem who can commiserate with me?
Omgosh sweetie I swear you hit it right on with me.
I used to think the same way. I always actually compared myself to the the little monstre in Beetlejuice when they're in that waiting room. You know, the one with the tiny head...
But I can assure you, BECAUSE you carry your weight evenly, just as I did, once you start getting closer to your goal, you will notice your head is going to look more proportioned.
I also find that giving my hair volume is helpful, mind you, with a hat it doesn't really help, but it will get better.
I was actually told last week: "Don't lose too much weight, you'll look like a bobblehead" ....
My boobs are too big for my body. Sometimes my head looks tiny. Sometimes my teeth look too big. I had a phase where I was really self conscious about my ears, and now they look totally normal to me.
Everyone looks weird. Its the great thing about being human.
@caramelkitty: the monster from Beetlejuice comment made me laugh so hard my co-workers started staring. I'll try wearing my hair down whenever I'm not working, it's long and red so it tends to draw attention away from my tiny head...or large body...or the combination of both....
Seagirl: I guess you're right, but I still feel particularly more weird looking than the average person. I get a little moody when I'm dieting (I got it from my dad who would snarl at people all day long whenever he tried to lose weight) so I guess part of it could also be feeling more down than usual.

Reminds me of the "Would You Rather...?" game question: "Would you rather have a normal-sized body with a head half the size of a normal one, or be seven feet tall with your legs being only two feet of it?"

Sorry about the off-topic comment.
LOL!!!! Like when you look at yourself in the side of a car and your legs look super short like an oompa loompa lol oh man.
I swear I thought I was the only person who felt the same way about my head . To me, I have a normal sized head and I gain weight everywhere, not in just one place. So I end up with huge shoulders and arms, hips etc and a normal head. I think once you lose more weight you will feel more secure. Also, I think people tend to think the worst and their "flaws" (I have a small head, I have big legs etc) aren't always as bad as they actually are in reality.
Oh Lordy yes. After the age of about 11, my Mom would only allow short, close-cut "pixie cuts," because, "short hair makes your face look slimmer," she would say.
Even as a kid, though I recognized that it just made me look like a pinhead. So once I had full control of my own hair, I would go for fuller cuts (and I learned never to let my mother cut my hair, because even though she'd trained as a hair stylist, when I asked for a fuller cut, she'd agree and then have an "oops, but don't worry I can fix it" mistake, and what do you know? The fix turned out to be the style of cut she wanted in the first place).
There are some short cuts that are full, and a body perm can help (where a ponytail can be pulled back neatly but loosely) and those "bump it" things are supposed to help.
Oh my gosh, this thread is just cracking me up!! I can't relate, however, because I have a big ol' pumkin head. You put my hair in a ponytail and it only enhances the roundness of my face, and makes me look 20 times fatter. I cut my hair to "frame" my face, love perms, and miss the 1980s when we all had huge hair.
