I am starting IP and looking forward to being part of this community as I spent a lot of time reading these posts over the weekend and they are very informative and encouraging.
I'm a little skeptical but considering how much cash I had to lay out to get started I figure I better give it a good try---although if IP works like people say it will be worth it. I really hope I find the food edible as I haven't tried it yet, but everyone seems to like it.
Is it true, no chewing gum allowed???

There ARE gums you can have, but you probably already know this since your post is 10 days old. I'm new on the site and have been on IP for a couple of weeks and lost 14 lbs so far. I lost weight before I started IP with a similar philosophy - the Primal Diet so my total lost since March is 37 lbs. Anyway, I am happy with IP so far and expect this to be a good program because it came highly recommended by a friend of mine who is a RN and a number of her medical peers have been on it too. Check with you coach about the gum thing because he/she can tell you what the prohibited ingredients are and I can't remember them. I know that the Stride gum I chew does NOT have those ingredients and that DentyneFire is also fine. Good luck with your weight loss and reply back so I know you got my note. Would love to stay in touch and compare notes!
