Default Feeling guilty today...

So, I've made a conscious effort that since my summer started that I'd go to the gym everyday. Well, today I REALLY don't feel like going. I have the energy, but I'd rather just relax. I've been every day this week and part of last week. I know to reach my goal I have to work towards it. I know that for a fact. So I feel really bad for not making the effort to go today../: I mean, is a break okay?

if you're really tired physically & mentally, take a day off from the gym. but really assess whether you're really too tired, or its just one of those 'no motivation' days. also, you may want to consider having a day off from the gym once a week just to give your body a day to rest & whatnot. don't feel guilty. we can't be perfect & sometimes we need to just take a short break (:

Rest days are good for your body I always have one or two a week (although, because of my crazy week it might three this week...) but I know how you feel. Even on a scheduled "rest day" I sometimes feel guilty!!

Even on a rest day you can stay active though—go for a walk, step outside, etc. It might help alleviate some of that guilt.

No more guilt! I went for a hike and burned around 400+ calories. It was refreshing and fun, despite I did get lost :P

Good for you!

I'm not exercising now for medical reasons, but my usual approach is to mandate that I exercise at least 5 and preferably 6 days per week. I get to choose when I take the rest days: if I'm feeling lazy one day, I have a think about whether taking that day off would still enable me to get my 5 or 6 days in, or whether something is likely to come up later in the week to get in my way.

Works for me. (Of course, I always walk to work and ride my bike around town, so I get some movement in regardless...Though not now, for aforementioned medical reasons...)
