Default How much sodium per day?

Ok so I've managed to find a calorie count that I'm happy with (thanks to the people who advised me to up my calorie count - I'm at 1400 now and it's SO much better)

So now, what about sodium? Daily requirement says 2400mg, but I remember from my stint at Herbal Magic that they said that was too much.

How much should I aim for?

You don't really need to worry about how much sodium to "aim" for the way you worry about calories and macros -- it can affect your day-to-day body weight by making you retain water, but it doesn't impact fat loss or gain in any way whatsoever. 500mg-2400mg is the recommended range, but if you're using MFP or another online food app, just let it track for you and don't worry too much about it. It's nice to be aware when you eat a lot of sodium so you can anticipate the jump on the scale without freaking out about it, and if you're routinely going over 2400mg you should probably re-examine what you're eating (since most sodium-high foods are extremely processed), but other than that, you shouldn't even have to think about it.
