Default Nearing Onederland. Should I expect a drastic change?

I'm SO excited to be close to the 190's. ZOMG. I've not been under 200 since I was about..13 I believe? I'm 17. That was 4 frickin' years ago. Anyway, when I get into the 190's or less, should I start seeing more of a difference in myself the more I work? Or will I still look the "same"? When did you start seeing yourself change?

This is the primary reason one should take photos every couple weeks in my opinion.

You're not going to notice anything dramatic if you're like most people and look at yourself in the mirror at least a couple times a day. Day by day changes are small and subtle.

I think when I hit 199, I will see a huge difference because my "OMG MY WEIGHT STARTS WITH A 1" dance will burn 100,000 calories lol

I realize I'm not actually answering your question, but I just wanted to say congrats!

(I haven't been in the 190s since I was about 15, and I am 31 now)

I struggle with seeing a difference even now 100+ lbs down. Obviously I kind of see it but it's not like I feel tiny or anything. I can only tell from pictures and my old clothes etc.

When I got to the 190s, the biggest difference I felt was happiness that I was in Onederland. I didn't suddenly shrink unfortunately from the previous day or week. BUT if what you're asking is: "was there a noticeable difference between 207 and 198, then yes. 207, I was in size 14R jeans/trousers and at 198 lbs, I was in size 12 bottoms, and Mediums in stretchy tops and a 14 in button downs.

Definitely take pictures. I didn't take enough and so sometimes it's hard to trace my progress. You're doing so so so so well! Congrats on all your successes so far!!!!

ETA: The weightloss definitely slowed in the 100s, I think it became a little harder for me to create the deficit plus I also wasn't pushing as hard as I got happier with the way I looked. But a little weightloss makes a larger difference in Onederland. For example, it took about 50-60 lbs from my start weight before I felt my weightloss looked really noticeable. In onederland, every 10lbs or so is a dropped size, I'm sure you're already noticing it takes a smaller amount of weight loss to drop a size, so in a sense, you'll be seeing changes by dropping less weight.

The difference between 200 and 199 is just a pound, the same as any other pound drop, in terms of appearance. But it FELT amazing. And yes, this is why taking progress pictures every ten pounds is so helpful, because it really lets us see changes we know have happened, but are otherwise imperceptible on a day to day basis.

I think the difference is mostly mental. Although, the more you lose, the more you will notice every 10 pounds.

Definitely take pics if you haven't already!

I was never good at seeing change in me, mostly because of what JohnP said. And then one day I was coming up the stairs and turned the corner and the kid's bathroom door was open with a light on and out of the corner of my eye I caught my reflection when I wasnt intending to look at me. THAT's when I saw it. Because my mind was elsewhere and I wondered who was in the hallway.
