Default Need a meal replacement ...

I am trying to drop 10lbs thanks to the thyroid. I was doing Body By Vi and gained weight so I switched to Ideal Shakes...Did not drop an ounce. I just read you should NOT consume Soy with low thyroid. No wonder I gained on these 2. Can anyone suggest a meal replacement shake that does NOT have soy in it but will help me drop 10 quickly.

Thank you!!

Most of the meal replacement shakes on the market are full of sugar and other junk you don't need.

What's wrong with a balanced whole foods diet?

calories are calories, so that's first.

I didn't realize so many meal replacements have soy in them. You could just use something like casein protein powder (you want a slow digesting protein, so don't use just whey unless it's after exercise) and mix it with your milk of choice... if you want more carbs or calories then you can just throw in some fruit.

you should eat regular food too... meal replacement is more for when you don't have time to cook or can't eat a full meal.

If your looking at a shake, it needs to be high protein, low carbs and something you mix with water.

If you are taking thyroid medicine, you can eat soy but doctors will generally say not within 4 hours of taking your medicine. I don't like soy protein isolate though which is what soy protein powder is and I don't like whey. You can look into a pea and brown rice protein. I personally like vega which is a mix. I use them ocassionally for breakfast because I don't like eating in the morning.
