Hi everyone,
I've been peeking at this forum a few days before deciding to join. From the positive feedback and the awesome before/after pictures, I decided that it's time to register and say hello.
My story is similar - I grew up with bad eating habits that carried over into my adult years. Meat and potatoes does not a healthy meal make. I did Weight Watchers in 2009 and lost 20 pounds. I gained half the weight back and went back to WW in 2011 using their new point system, but it didn't work for me. I gorged myself on fruits instead of chocolate and cheese and am now 5 pounds under my peak weight of 210. It does not feel good to step on the scale and see anything over 200! I've had enough with being unhealthy, eating too much and feeling bad about myself. Lots of guilt, shame, frustration and anger. But no longer!
I've recently purchased a TRX after attending several classes to get the exercises right. It's a very challenging workout and very easy on your joints. I tried jogging last summer, but with my inexperience and extra weight, I injured myself, so that's out until I lose some weight! Swimming will probably be next on my list of exercises to try.
Exercise in combination with gradually weaning myself off of meat and counting points through Weight Watchers is my plan. It's been a hard 5 days, but have seen some little results, like more energy, clothes not fitting so tight and maybe 1 pound lost...we'll see when I weigh in again!
I'm glad to have support here and can't wait to start seeing bigger results, from y'all and from myself too
