Good morning. I'm drinking Tim Horton coffee this morning. The store in the next town finally got Keurig pods and I felt I had to encourage them by buying some. (They'll probably revoke my Canadian citizenship for this but I do not prefer Timmy's coffee - McD's is better IMHO!)
Despite the rain yesterday, Barb and I had a good day in town and I ordered two batches of wine at her dealer. (In six weeks I'll be crabbing about going to bottle it.) She suggested Chinese for lunch but I countered with another suggestion so I was saved! Spent the rest of the cold and rainy day working on a quilt. Such luxury after last week's overbooking!
Today we may see the sun and, after gym, I will go to Brockville for some odds and ends of shopping plus an I-Tunes gift card for a gift. It's the last day of the local music festival so I may pop in to see Eric's performance. (He's Claire's grandson and considers me an extra Grandma!)
A wedding is on the schedule for Saturday afternoon and it's going to be sunny but cold outside at just two degrees above C. I may throw my winter coat on over my springy pretty dress! What was she thinking? Can you tell I'm not looking forward to this event?
So on we go with Hump Day! How does your day look?
Mmm, I've actually heard McD's coffee is good. Rarely do I pass thru there though! Just plain ole Folger's for me, nice and bold!
Ruth, so what is a better option over Chinese? I do love me some chinese food, although that night the pants are always tight! Maybe Mother Nature will provide a little sun on Saturday for you and the bride?
I will get the kids on the bus, then get my van inspected, then off to work for a short day I hope. If I'm lucky, a trail run this afternoon, then the kids to martial arts tonight.
Well, sun is predicted but it will be just 4ºC which is 38ºF! It will be held on the plain beside Fort Henry in Kingston where the wind sweeps across Lake Ontario! I just changed my outfit from a dress to pants! (Lunch was a chile salad, by the way, a silly choice since I had planned chile for dinner!)
I was just hopping over to start us up, Ruth. Thanks! I literally cheered out loud for you this morning...reading that you had swayed lunch plans away from the dreaded Chinese buffet. That is such an ongoing accomplishment. I haven't been, either, since I already know what happens.
Twynn, yay for a short day and the thought of a trail run! Hope it all breezes by for you.
I have the day off. Amazing. I do have obligations, mind you, but I don't have to run out the door at 630. Today it will be 9. Down to the restaurant for a coworkers birthday, home to work in the yard then in to Denver to buy a replacement refridg for a rental. I think the evening should be mine. Last night I puttered in the yard. It was 78 degrees. I saw on the news where Denver had a record high (90).
Oh, that makes me think of going outside again....must take my morning hike down to the coffee room on the other end of the house and get this day rolling.
The McD's coffee I've had has been awful, but I did like Tim Horton's the few times I've had it.
Good for you for steering Barb away from lunch at the Chinese buffet, Ruth! I'm hoping to sample some of that wine, so put aside a bottle of two, OK?
Looks like a busy day for you, Tammy. I hope there are no surprises when you get your van inspected.
Enjoy your day off, Debbie!
Another cold one here, but the sun is out. I'll be spending my morning with Susie & Ramsay and have a lot of paperwork and ordering to do for Cindy before I pick up the girls. Then riding lessons, and home for Survivor. That should about get me over the Hump.
good morning. Apparently Sears is coming to repair our treadmill today. My DD used it last weekend and the shock of someone running on it was more than it could handle. Luckily Julie was smart enough to buy the 10 year maintenance/service plan (purchased in 2004).
Oh goody, love a day that starts out with kitty barf. back later
Goog morning ladies. I read your posts and think WOW my days are pretty open in comparison. I do enjoy McD's coffee and have braved the drive thru to get one since on SB. having a huge display showing the calorie count of each item does help me stay on track.
Still chilly here, did not get any outside work done yesterday. but that did not stop my awesome landscaper. The yard looks so good when they are done.
Today I will nag my teenage son for 10 minutes more as not to miss the bus. Dentist at 9, home, lots of errands, orthopedist, pick up son from driver's Ed then pack my bag for the work week. Still too chilly for me to ride outside, so a spinning DVD after dinner will have to suffice.
My trainer is back from her trip so my mom and I are back to the gym today Since I basically did nothing the past couple of weeks, I expect a challenge this morning.
The weather is crazy here. Yesterday it got hot again and it was hard to sleep last night so we turned on the a/c this morning since it is supposed to be 90 today! Then later this week down to a high of only 50! Which means we'll turn the heat back on.
My project today is to read the book that a diet blogger wrote about her experience maintaining a 150 pound loss; she asked if I'd be willing to write about it on my blog and I want to support her since, like all of you wonderful chicks, she's been a great support to me with my own journey despite having a very different approach.
good morning! more coffee please I'm making a half pot of Folgers' and I'll share.
jekel, hey you sound like you have a busy day also!
Cyndim, oh no...i hope you didn't step in it with bare feet, as I did once with overnight doggie barf. Sorry for the visual
and Karen, YES I would LOVE to have you all hold me accountable once I'm back on the pastry baking. "Holly, did you have anything bad today, 'fess up!"
and hello to everyone else!
I made myself clean out two of my bureau drawers yesterday. It was so tempting to just pitch them in the garbage because the collector comes on Tuesday; but i made myself fold them and put them in my car, to donate. Our recycling station has people that sort through and deem it either acceptable to give as free clothing, or as textile use. MUCH better than going in a landfill.
Ruth - I agree. Starbucks, McDonalds and as a last option Tims.
Debbie - hope you are getting rid of that cold before Alaska happens. You must be excited. I know you love that place.
Cottage - hope your day is easy and enjoy your program.
Cyndi - I hope you don't have to wait too long for the serviceman.
Twynn - you are one busy, modern young mom.
Jekel - yes, everyone is so busy here. DH and my motto is do what we want to do, when we want to do it. We are retired.
Karen - looking forward to a review on your blog.
Holly - how is the recipe hunt coming along. I could spent hrs looking around because I just love to bake. Had to look up Franklin Institute yesterday, I have been to the Art Museum and its world class.
me - ticker is finally not lying. Working on some projects today and hopefully taking a walk but around the burbs because the trails are too wet.
take care
Sophie
I had ummmm something.... Caribou Blend this morning? It was ok. Not my favorite, but not bad. Tasted like coffee.
cottage Sorry you didn't like Mudslide! Chris likes it ok, I haven't tried it yet (I'm leaving the flavored ones for him until our others arrive!) As soon as the Mocha Nut Fudge one comes, I will let you know how it is! I also have seen a German Chocolate Cake one out there that received raving reviews... may have to get that one in the future when I start to run out of coffee.
Anyhoozle just wanted to pop in and say I DRANK COFFEE TOOOOO!!!!!
