It might be easier to try to just lose 5 lbs.Or even just 1. Then repeat. Make a goal like "I'm going to walk 30 minutes a day most days this week."(Or something like that-you get the picture.) If you try to lose 70 lbs at once, you will fail. Just focus on mini, teenie tiny, miniscule goals that are easier to manage. THINK VERY HARD about everything you put in your mouth. If you still think it's a good idea to eat it after 1 hour, think about it a little longer. What usually helps me is if I think about how far I would have to run to burn that amount of food. Or if I look at myself naked. That usually puts a halt on eating anything bad. And when you are able to resist something bad, congratulate yourself and think about how much healthier you will be, and just how much closer you are to being rid of the weight. I was refilling the cat's litter box today, and I realized the cat litter weighs 40 lbs in the box. I realized that is how much my goal this time was, and picking it up reminded me just how heavy that is, and how bad it is for my body to have to carry it. It's like a punishment. I want to live to be old, and when I'm old, I don't want to be immobile. I want my joints to stop hurting, and to be able to run, climb stairs, do anything I want. It's not just about this moment, it's about all the moments that come after. Look ahead, and maybe that will help you see past the current scones/chocolate/cheeseburger/etc. Get going and don't stop!

thanks for your motivational words brandis. exercise isnt an issue, i love exercising the only problem is, i love eating even more ! but yes i am setting small goals, even though my main goal is to be at a healthy bmi again, after all any loss is better than a gain isnt it! i just had a bad start, but i did well today and istead of reaching for food (from boredom and habit) i switched on '3 fat chicks' as my distraction.
