Default SBD Chat for Tuesday, April 17

Good morning and here's a mug of Italian Roast again. It's almost warm enough to sit on the back deck and watch the sunrise. There's a quarter moon up there too and lots of birdsong. Did I ever mention that I love spring?

A to the new Beachers. Please feel free to join is in the Daily where we babble away about our lives.

No car yesterday although I am assured that it really does exist and is in the dealer's lot. Things were just too busy to go and get it with the Mill Board Meeting in the afternoon. This morning is Good Food Box but Claire is going to handle it for me and I will return the Taurus and get my own RED car. (I really missed having a hatchback yesterday when I realized I couldn't pick up a wrought iron plant stand for the porch because it wouldn't fit.) We'll get it broken in really fast as I have Pet Therapy this afternoon and Disney will get the first ride.

Still haven't called all the people on my list to bake for the weekend sale. Tuesday may be a bit late but I'll try to get a few more off my list today. I plan a trip to Bulk Barn to replenish some ingredients and then will do a baking marathon on Thursday which seems to be the only clear day this week. This is a week on overdrive because of the Syrup Festival - next week should be better.

Time for a proper breakfast and some meal planning. I have not been eating properly lately and the scale is showing it. Veggies are the missing link.

Happy Tuesday or Twosday as Jenn says.

Good morning Ruth! Will we get to see a pic of you in your new car? I wish I could join you for a baking marathon! (that does give me an idea though...)

And I thought my day was busy, but nothing compared to Ruth! I'll push the kids on the bus this morning after making all the lunches, and then for a quick swim (although I got a tetanus shot yesterday. Darned, those things hurt!!) before work. Our third vet just quit, so this is my last Tuesday he works 5-7 , from here out I'll work til 7 on Tuesdays...ick...

The doctor said I was in great shape and healthy enough. I was delighted they don't recommend girl tests but every 2-3 years now! Although he was very nice, he was YOUNG! Now I have a primary doctor to call when I get injured at work.

My coffee is strong Ruth, thanks!

Good morning! There's Newman's in my mug today, but I do love that Vanilla Biscotti you had yesterday, Ruth. Jazz is going to be so jealous that he didn't get the first ride in your new car. You're going to have to make it up to him. I know there'll be some delicious aromas wafting from your kitchen this week with your Bakathon.

Tammy, I'm glad your visit to your new Primary went so well!

I had a good day yesterday and got home early enough to do a quick run through the supermarket, catch up on laundry, and even planted a dozen primroses in the front garden. It's a good thing I got it all done yesterday, as today is my late day and I won't be home until 7.

Linda, Disney is the senior dog and deserves the first ride. We are going to the nursing home which is usually Jazz's schtick but one of the dear old souls told me last time "You always say you'll bring the white dog but never do!" So today's the day I have to prove I still have a white dog.

Tammy, I don't envy you that long day. Seems to me I've not had a "girly" test for several years. I guess my doc figures I'm "safe".

Just realized that I will be near a nursery when I go to town for the car. Maybe I can get some plants - my primroses did not survive our "open" winter. Some sweet pansy faces would really perk up my side porch flower box.

Time to crank up the day.

Ruth, only one of our primroses survived our "open" winter. They're one of Jake's favorites, so when he saw them at a nursery the other day, he had to have them. But he makes me do the planting, not that I mind.

Good morning!

Ruth - I love spring too. Hope the car come soon.

Twynn - Girl tests - tee hee.

Linda - I went to Wegmans in PA! Supermarket envy.

I work from 11-2 today; I am bracing for my back to start aching again. I am still debating trying to squeeze in yoga before hand but that wouldn't leave much time to shower and have a second breakfast before work. Hmmm. Have a few items to pick up at the store on the way home that I couldn't get on yesterday's grocery run.

That's as far as my brain has taken me.

Have a great day, all.

good morning! I think I'll make more coffee, one cup wasn't enough.

Ruth, oh won't it be lovely when we can sit on the deck that early, wtih our coffee..almost there! And with all us hoping and wishing, maybe we can make that new car materialize for you NOW

Twynn/Tammy, wow, congrats on the doc saying you were in great shape! Do you have to get tetanus shots regularly due to your job, or did you cut yourself recently?

Cottage - your primroses must look nice

Karen Oh I hope your back doesn't ache today!! and I hope your brain gets you all through the day I know it will, lol.

We had a beautiful WARM day yesterday, a little cooler today, but SUNNY which I adore and helps my mood so much. And of course getting out on my motorcycle helps my mood.

On Sunday I divided some of my heirloom peonies, I know one is supposed to do them in fall but I'm never ever motivated then. They look like they're okay...of course it's hard to tell but I water them every day and tell them I love them I really do, though. They are from roots (or corms, whatever technically) that were on my grandparent's homestead here in Vermont when they moved here in 1940. AND the previous owner told them that the peonies were planted by the lady of the house 30 years previously! And because they are heirloom, they have the most fantastic strong scent of rose. Yes, I love them. They remind me of my grandfather, lovingly tending them.

I'm going to move my ticker down one pound.. yesterday I weighed at 142, today at 143, so I will take the 143. That makes 11 pounds down on South Beach since late January

Just stopping in to say hi. Eating my protein packed cheesecake and trying to ignore the withdrawal symptoms. Pretty soon you may see me in the bad part of town trying to inject Mt Dew into my veins.... day 2. Only a few more days and I'll feel better, I keep trying to tell myself that.

Hope everyone's having a great morning!

Hope everyone enjoyed their day. I know I did. Week 1 complete and 8 pounds lost! NEVER have I had such a huge loss on any other program in any week lol. Thank you for the forum suggestion. Really enjoyed breakfast this morning...no eggs had a smoothie.

The majority of the day was spent weeding, but nice to see progress there too!
