Default warm weather=less clothes...ugh!

Today it's an unusual 88 degrees for April on the East Coast and while I watch so many others run around in their cute shorts and tanks I wish I was still covered up in my winter jacket! I'm feeling pretty down today knowing that I should have/could have stuck to my diet earlier and been in a better place today. I can't bear to go through another summer overweight and today is giving me the motivation I need to get seriously busy and lose at least 10-15 by the start of the summer! I know I won't reach my ultimate goal until summer is over but at least I'll be on my way.

I know how you feel. Last summer I DREADED having to dress for warm weather.

Put together a sensible eating/exercise plan that you can stick with and you'll be there before you know it!

Good luck to you

Yeah, I'm feeling that way too... every year it's "why didn't I start earlier??" All the more reason to do it NOW, right?

I think you should view this is a positive light - it's only MID-APRIL! NOT July!! This freak weather should remind you that summer is ocming and the time to do something is NOW. Don't wait until it's 86 degrees every day - you still have months to work hard and eat right. I know, 100%, that's easier said that done but you should be glad [I know I am] that's this weather is not yet here to stay, but remember it will be soon.

Forget the months you missed, focus on the ones you have left!

This weather motivates me as well. Seeing all these girls outside wearing shorts and short dresses really gives me a push forward. One of my problem areas are my arms for me, they're quite chubby so I find it really hard to wear tank tops, but at the same time I can't keep wearing long sleeved shirts when it gets so hot.

Yes, I do have thoughts like "if only I would have started this last year, I'd be enjoying this weather now", but this thought isn't productive at all. I just imagine next year I'll truly be happy with how I look.

I do wish that my arms would lose weight at the same rate as the rest of my body, especially in time for summer! I honestly think my bat wings are permanent at this point, though. However, I don't let that stop me from wearing tank tops and short sleeves! I will NOT be hot during the summer. *thumbs up*

Exactly! This is the reason why I'm sticking to the program right now because I feel like I wasted all last year wishing I had done something.

It's getting closer to winter here and I think I'd prefer it the other way - I hate the cold .... I am always more motivated and happy to exercise in the lead up to summer .. Also the fruits and veges in Summer are always more appealing and I feel like eating fresher and healthier ... think of it as a positive ...

Your motivating me to start now .... for our summer ....

Good luck

I'm a Muslim and many women I know, including myself, dress with long sleeves and skirts all year round! You can still dress modestly in warm weather if you wish, just find nice breathable fabrics that let air in to cool you off. If you would like to wear tank tops and short sleeves for summer you should, especially if you are covering up because you do not like the way you look. I say let it all hang out if that's what you please!

I live in Phoenix, so "summer" will start probably any day now. I haven't worn shorts since I was a kid (even when I was thin I was still self conscious of my legs). I wear long jeans or jean capris all summer. It's HOT! I'd wear them if I felt comfortable in them. I just hate the way shorts ride up as I walk (due to chub rub I'd guess). I do think I'll get some cooler shirts that I'm comfortable in, even if I don't look THE BEST in them. Who cares!? I'm not trying to impress anyone out there, I have a very nice looking husband at home.

I'm in So. California and today was a warm day but as usual I had to cover up while out in jeans and a t shirt, I would be too self conscious in anything less, and it will be the same in summer When I got home though, out came the thin summer dress and uncovered arms, oh, how I wish I could wear this dress when I'm out and about, I would be so much cooler. Maybe next summer.
