Let's try this again!

  • So I tried posting on here twice and it glitched and got rid of my post..

So, in short, I'm 23 and my lowest weight I really remember from high school on was about 240 pounds, I usually hovered around 250. In the end of college I spiked up to 288 (bad eating habits and too much studying instead of exercise). Over the past few months I've dropped to about 275 and have been hovering there.

I'd love to get back down to 250 to fit in my old clothes and then work on getting to my goal weight of 200 (or lower if possible!).

I've seen a lot of inspiring stories on here of ladies that worked hard to lose their weight and would love to someday join in on the success! My bf and I are pretty serious and I get the feeling a wedding may be in my future but I would hate to look back on wedding photos and only think of how big I was/am.. But, there is time to change!

I look forward to your encouragement and advice!

I feel exactly the same…my inspiration is not having to order a wedding dress online which sounds like no fun! Every girl deserves a perfect wedding and i dont want my weight getting in the way of my special day (when he finally asks, that is)
  • Yeah, even though everyone guesses my weight to be a lot less than it is, the clothes just don't fit me the way I feel they should.

I wear a size 20, and have realized sizing is just so weird. I carry my weight a lot everywhere and especially around the love handles/front belly. My arms are also not very toned (think grandma bingo-wings) and I want to be no where near a strapless dress with my flappy arms and a fold of back fat!

I had to wear one for my friend's wedding in which I was a bridesmaid and have since lost about 15 pounds... I took the dress to a consignment store yesterday just to be rid of it since I never want to have to up-size my wardrobe again!

I weighed myself today and I'm up 2 pounds, but I have been upping my water intake and should know better than to weigh myself with clothes on AND a full stomach of water. :P

I TOTALLY hear you on this. My arm-wings are one of my most hated body parts, and it's been SO frustrating that I've been losing weight everywhere but there (seriously, how do I lose 6" off my waist and 4" off my hips and nada from the arms?!?). It's like my arms are a 20 and my torso is a 16. Sizing is definitely weird.

    Heck, BODIES ARE SOOOO WEIRD!

Anyway, WELCOME! There is an unbelievable amount of support here. I hope you find it as incredibly inspiring as I have.
  • I have the back fat problem.... I also have big legs.... I had a co-worker say out loud one time, "wow, you have big legs!"....... anyway, while reading your post, I noticed you mentioned back fat..... that is all I see when I wear certain shirts or bathing suits!
  • Thanks everyone! I went to the gym for the first time in a long time after joining here. I need to stop living to eat and get more active...
