Can you smell the coffee? Sit down and join me with a cup before the day gets away from us.
I imagine Karen will be setting out on her trip east pretty soon and wish her a safe drive. That sounds like fun, checking out apartments.
Kimstar, thanks for sharing your pictures of little Leilani, she's an absolute doll!
It's been a long week, but I can't believe it's Thursday (and my Friday ) already. Everyone is back to normal and I'm expecting a rather easy day at the farm, and may even get to leave early. We'll see.
I decided to give myself a few days of Phase 1, and it's been going amazingly well so far. I've been straying a bit too far from Plan lately and want to get things under control before it gets out of hand. Warmer weather is coming and I want to fit back in my summer clothes.
Good morning Cottage! The coffee is strong today, what a great way to start the day. I hope your day goes quickly so you can head into your weekend! Great job on phase I - it made a big difference for me in the past week.
Of course, I had fruit and grains yesterday, and WOW....that is so b-a-d! Especially the grains - I made some spelt bread last night that Cyndi had posted years ago, and I just can't do that again . (I just realized it was spelt, and should've been flax, but it was still good!) Alas, up and onward.
Today is my full day - work 9 -7, with a continuing education meeting tonight after work, so I won't get home til probably close to 10 . Hopefully, the day will go quickly!
Thanks, Linda! Looks like you are expecting some nice weather out your way I'll think about you and Twynn while I'm out your way. How funny that you are the two early posters today.
Our plan is to hit the road at about 8, just over 2 hours from now. I need to try to do some yoga moves at home to see if I can help my aching back before I get in the car! Our taxes are NOT done; DH, ever the procrastinator, was up late last night working on them. Sigh.
I've got lots of healthy food packed for the trip out Including all my "car meals") but once we get there we'll be eating out and I'm going to do my best. Same with the trip back. Fingers crossed we find DS a great place.
Coffee is great this morning, Cottage. I'm sipping Italian Roast this morning. I'm glad things are healthier at the Farm.
Yes, Leilani's pictures are just wonderful. What a sweet little girl!
Karen, I hope you get your son an apartment in Bethlehem - they do have stables if he's stuck.
Twynn, I've yet to figure out my no-no combinations. I'll watch the bread - anything but regular white and brown is hard to come by out here. I may have to make my own.
Still no new car as it's still in Ottawa. My dealer and the Ottawa dealer are dickering over how to get it here. The Ottawa dealer would have to send two guys and claims he's too busy. You know, I said goodbye to my old car the other day and felt very sad. I guess that's because I don't have another brand new car to take her place. I am without my own car for the first time since 1960 and it feels strange.
Back to the vet yesterday to pick up meds for dear Disney. She is showing her age and now has hypothyroidism. We have no idea how old she is but she could be well over 8. After all, she would have had to be at least a year old to survive Katrina and her teeth are antiques. She has gained a half pound in the past year. That doesn't sound like much but in a 20 pound dog, it's equivalent to a gain of 7 pounds in a 160 pound person. I may go back to making my own dogfood again.
Nothing planned today as I wait to hear about the car but I will be outside doing some yardwork and enjoying the sunshine. I also plan to start potting up splits from perennials for the May plant sale at the Church. My daffodils are just about ready to come into bloom and the rhubarb nipples are showing. I love Spring!
Enjoy your Thursday, Chickies, and be nice to yourself.
Hi Holly. I noticed you were missing and wondered if you'd taken off on your bike.
Cottage, let me know when you plan a mini-meet and I'll zoom down in my new car. I'm still enjoying my Intercourse bag and have had several requests for more.
Hi Holly. I noticed you were missing and wondered if you'd taken off on your bike.
.
Still a little chilly here...we've had a couple days that have reached 50 -ish but without sun, it is not as inviting. Soon!
Ruth, haven't congratulated you on your new car! congrats!
I should pass along my kudos to the Subaru corporation. After finding out my suspension break was due to a recalled part, they towed my car, gave me an awesome free rental (for over 30 days) repaired the faulty part PLUS other parts that were affected, at NO CHARGE. I did not have to pay one cent! That's standing behind your vehicles
Today will be a busy day for me, I have a presentation to give at noon and then right afterwards, me and few staff are driving down to the lake of the ozarks for the viewing of one of my staff's mom. 2 1/2 hours one way. It will be a long day that's for sure.
Karen- safe travels
Ruth- they need to hurry up with your new car
KimStar- Thanks for sharing the pictures of Leilani, what a precious little girl she is.
"wave" to everyone else.
DH and DS are going to Hockey playoffs tonight so they are excited. DD1 will watch DD2 tonight, since we are all have a busy schedule and I will not be home until probably 9 p.m. tonight.
Good morning, everyone! Run-by fruiting here. Leilani decided 3:00 a.m. was a GREAT time to get up and play for about an hour, so Jason and I are DRAGGING this morning.
